Big Green Gathering 2003 & 2005 : Internet, iTrikes and Rural Radio Shows

The events described here have now taken place and were resounding successes. You can read about the results and see videos from 2003's event by visiting http://flakey.info/itrike/ and the careful perusal of this very page. See you all next year.

2005

The AMARE area sign welcoming people to the field The AMARE Psybertent from somewhere outside Cocktails in the AMARE Psybertent bar

Due to forces beyond our control, at the Big Green Gathering 2005 we were somewhat involved in helping Psand.net and Bristol Wireless to set-up and run the Psybertent in the Gathering's AMARE area, a suite of 20 recycled laptops running Linux and offering solar-powered Internet access six hours a day for five days solid. It was reported by some that the best cyder on site was procurable from the same establishment, some rapscallionous people even calling it the cydertent behind the management's collective backs.

Anyway, during our time there we had the pleasure of the presence of Tom Wallace and Piers Gibbon from Resonance 104.4 FM who ran a radio show with interviews, including a fine one of the Psand/BW/RV crew themselves.

We have here the rescordings for your pleasant delictation:

In addition to this, we streamed-out debates from the Green Futures Forum in association with Ben and Mish from iConscious. Some audio is hoped to be wrangled from the archives soon. In the same vain, we hope to have some video for you of some of the tastier nail-biting moments from the Green Furtures Forum debates.

2004

The Big Green Gathering festival site at Fernhill Farm without the Big Green Gathering on it

The Big Green Gathering had a rest in 2004 and hence we've nothing for you from this year. We could obviously post up an audio file containing nothing but the sound of the birds, cows, sheep and tractors from the BGG site, which is what you would have heard had you gone that year.

2003

A Radio Vague outside broadcast vehicle Tom interviews 'Jerry' at the BGG 2003

That was the year that was. The year of the irrespressible iTrike, the world's first solar-powered Internet rickshaw.

On the Sunday we streamed Sieze the Day live from the Croissant Neuf stage and afterwards hooked up with Tom Wallace from Resonance FM 104.4 and did a one hour live radio show, broadcast all over the Internet and on FM radio in London.
